USE

The C2O interface converts the signals coming from the coaxial digital input and from the analog AUX-IN into a TOSLINK optical digital output signal (up to 24 bit/192kHz).

The conversion allows the integration of the new Hi-Res portable devices equipped with coaxial digital output (75Ω) and smartphones with analog output on 3.5 mm mini Jack (also 4 poles) with Audison processors featuring an optical digital input compatible with the resolution of the signal sent to the C20.

Thanks to its extreme compactness, the C20 can be installed in a hidden position on the dashboard, drastically reducing the length of the cabling between the portable player and the receiving device nullifying in this way any issues with interfacing.

FEATURES

The coaxial digital input is provided with an isolation transformer that improves the balance between the transmitter and the receiver circuit, reducing noise due to EMI electromagnetic interference, which is particularly insidious inside the passenger compartment.

The AUX-IN input is equipped with a pre-amplifier with adjustable gain of 0.1V ÷ 2V for an optimal coupling with each device before the Analog-Digital conversion is performed by a high quality converter at a resolution of 24 bit/48 kHz.

For maximum ease of use in cars, the C2O independently selects the input with priority assigned to the AUX-IN. With the default setting, after 6 seconds of no analog signal, the C2O moves to the coaxial digital input. An internal switch allows for the time before the switch to be set to 9 or 12 seconds.

bit DMI is a digital interface for MOST systems, providing the ability to connect the Audison bit processors and the Audison amplifiers, equipped with digital input, to OEM multimedia systems in cars featuring the MOST technology based on optical fibre. Thanks to the digital connection, the signal can be transmitted without loss of quality, keeping the audio controls built in the OEM head unit – such as volume, balance and tone controls- as well as the hands-free kit, navigation system and parking sensors alerts unaltered.

Stereo passive mixer (unpowered) featuring 4 input channels and 2 output channels, designed for active OEM multi-way systems where each speaker is powered by one specific amplified channel. SPM4 mixes audio through 4 audio transformers specifically developed to achieve very low distortion and highly linear acoustic response. SPM4 provides the ability to mix the midrange/woofer and tweeter channels coming from the amplifier and supply one single mid-high channel. The Ch1(L/R) channels feature two inputs, one features an inverting input compared to Ch2 (L/R) channels; the mixing process often gives better results when one of the two channels undergoes a 180° dephasing. SPM4 is especially recommended to extend the number of inputs of the Audison digital processors or amplifiers with built-in DSP because they feature a De-equalizer (De-Eq). In that case, any possible non-linear acoustic emissions due to the mixing of the pre-existing filtered channels are duly compensated.

Some OEM sources/head-units have a test circuit that monitors the presence of a low-impedance load to enable audio outputs. When you connect this type of head-unit to the high-level inputs of an Audison bit processor, which has a high impedance load, audio outputs are silenced. By inserting the USS4 between the source and the processor / amplifier, these problems are definitively solved. If there is a need to generate a remote signal to control the amplifier turn on/off, it is necessary to power* the USS4, providing the additional feature of the possibility to delay the signal from 1 to 8 seconds, so as to avoid annoying “bumps” upon ignition.

It prevents the processor from shutting down when turning on vehicles featuring the start & stop system

When starting the engine, the vehicle battery voltage might decrease below 8 Volts value. If a signal processor (bit One, bit Ten) is installed in your system, especially with vehicles featuring the start & stop system, low supply voltage values might make the processor shut down. In order to avoid waiting for the processor to complete its turn-on cycle again, you can install the ES3 by connecting it in series to the processor power supply cables.

bit One
AUDIO PROCESSOR

Despite its compact size, the bit One is equipped with a powerful 266 MHz / 32 bit floating point DSP microprocessor, working in real time on all the functions of the most complete systems. Managed and configured by a simple and intuitive computer software, it is possible to make adjustments to improve the signal through each phase of its path; from input to output.

Eight input channels for four different signal typologies (amplified, pre-amplified, coaxial electric and TOSLINK optical digital) and six different sources managed through a remote control, making the bit One a unique interface suitable for any need.

Eight analog and/or digital output channels ensure a wide expandability for any audio system configuration.
